10 Tips for a Less Stressed Christmas

Managing stress throughout December can be challenging and I know what it feels like to be completely stressed out and overwhelmed by my Christmas to-do list!

Here are my Top 10 Tips to help you navigate the stressful festive season and avoid burnout:

1. Fuel up with real food to stabilise blood sugar levels and make you feel energised.

2. Include stress-busters such as oily fish and complex carbs (whole grains, sweet potatoes, and beans) which support serotonin.

3. Limit caffeine and sugar as they can make stress and anxiety worse.

4. Prioritise sleep so you feel rested in the morning and ready for the day ahead.

5. Stay hydrated

6. Get a vitamin C boost as it plays a role in managing stress and also supports your immune system.

7. Avoid highly processed foods as these can contribute to mood swings and energy crashes.

8. Support your gut with yogurt, kefir, and fermented vegetables.

9. Moderate alcohol intake as excessive alcohol consumption can impact your sleep.

10. Make time for breaks to help you deal with stress and stop you feeling overwhelmed.

Remember, self-care is crucial during the festive season. Prioritise your well-being, listen to your body, and make choices that support your mental and physical health.
